Professor Garnaut currently heads the new Superpower Institute in Melbourne. Its mission is to position Australia as a global leader in the post-carbon economy. Much of our wealth has come from coal and gas exports, but this cannot continue. The Institute believes Australia’s natural resources can drive prosperity by developing and exporting green, energy-intensive commodities. Meeting this challenge is vital for jobs, wealth, and emissions reduction towards net zero. Professor Garnaut will outline both the opportunities and risks of action or inaction. For decades, he has brought clarity to the net-zero debate. His career includes:

Collect five bags of bread and rolls from Bakers Delight, 515 Riversdale Road, Camberwell and deliver them to the Salvation Army, 7 Bowen Street Camberwell. No sweet pastries or savoury bread. For queries contact: Alex Marshall: 0407302494

The drop off arrangements for the Salvation bread delivery have changed for the better.
1. The key-safe code is now 1865. Please put this in your phone asap.
Aide memoire: Salvation Army started in 1865!
2. The key-safe actually contains a key card which unlocks the rear door of the newly renovated hall that is approached from the Salvation Army carpark off Athelstan Road. The entrance to the carpark is just before 4 Athelstan Road where we previously delivered the bread. The key-safe is on a down-pipe adjacent to a blue bin to the left of the door into the hall. See attached photos.
3. Put the bread on the kitchen servery which is on your right as you enter.
4. The area is now well lit.

PDG Julie Mason AO, of the Rotary Club of Wyndham, has enjoyed a distinguished career both as an educator and as a Rotarian. She currently serves as Chair of the District 9800 Rotary Foundation Committee, and also leads the District’s Annual Giving and Vocational Training Teams programs. During Rotary Foundation Month, Julie will speak about Rotary’s own award-winning charity — The Rotary Foundation — highlighting the remarkable work being achieved by Rotarians around the world through its support, and how the Foundation can assist the Rotary Club of Glenferrie in advancing its own service goals. |

Official Visit of the District Governor

District Governor, Rotary District 9800 Peter Shepheard will visit the club to provide an update on District affairs and priorities. He will meet with the club board prior to the club dinner meeting. His address to the club will be in the spirit of the Rotary multi-year message: Uniting for Good, the power of collaboration Acknowledging that our members are our greatest asset and our greatest opportunity to use their skills and connections to increase our impact. |
