Hello in Isolation. I presume a lot of you now know what it is like to be in solitary confinement! For others, maybe what retirement would be like with the idea of “married for life but not for lunch”! This time gives you a chance to always do the hobby that you were going to take up from online Yoga, learning a musical instrument to reading “War and Peace”. Lucky for me I am a “essential service” but so is the local liquor store, while hairdressers are now out!
Congratulations to member Chris Raw for completing her Masters of IT in isolation land. Great to see people doing good while stuck at home. A good example of turning this isolation time into good use. Scratching my head to think of novel ideas for Club meetings.
Just nice to see those familiar faces popping up on my computer screen.
Means a lot to me that you are all still tuning in. If anyone has an idea to play out on this meeting platform, please come forward (so to speak).

Strategic Action Group
You may recall the zoom meetings designed to give guidance to our club for the future with Warwick Cavell. At a general club meeting, I will present the results and the goals for our club to make an impact in the future.
Rotary Youth Declaration Form.
I have secured a commitment by our Heads that an explanation as to why we need to sign this form. I am aware that it is being formulated and I will publish this when available. Thank you for all getting your “Working with Children” forms in but this extra requirement by Rotary International is as a risk management issue, that could leave the individual and our club open for litigation.
Constitution.
Rotary International has revised the Constitution and Bylaws. A committee comprising Thelma, Don Heath, Carol Benson and our ace lawyer Peter Moore have gone through this and we have made changes to them to suit our club. We are lucky to have expertise within our ranks, and thankyou to the above being involved. A good example that all our members have special talents to use for our club’s advantage. A special general Meeting via zoom will occur in September for your vote to adopt these changes. So please look out for the email that our secretary Peter Moore will send soon.
Don’t forget to “come” to the general meeting via zoom on this Tuesday night. Mr John Deeks is talking. Please support our club’s endeavours. The Board meets on the Monday night. The idea of a chat room meeting “wine and cheese” fellowship night seems to have some backing, so on Aug 18th Tuesday night we will run it. We will see if we can organise breakout rooms and what we will set as the topic is “What are you doing in isolation?”
Please see the recent Networker which outlines what an outstanding career our Club Director, John Hudson, is having. Yes - I don't think he will rest on his laurels!!
Please look out for your members and let us know if anyone is experiencing “cabin fever”. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just not too sure when we are going to get there!!
