An Enjoyable Evening with Our Young MUNA Debaters
The Rotary Club of Glenferrie was delighted to welcome Heloise Murray and Isabel Bowden, two talented students from Loreto Mandeville Hall in Toorak, who joined us to share their experiences at the Rotary District Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA).

Sponsored by our club, Heloise and Isabel represented their school at the two-day event in May, where they were assigned to represent Russia. They shared interesting stories and insights into their debates and experiences, giving members a glimpse into the challenges and excitement of participating in this international affairs simulation.
Both students impressed us with their confidence, politeness and excellent communication skills. They engaged warmly with club members, answered questions thoughtfully and made their presentation both interesting and enjoyable. Their mother and grandparents’ school teacher also attended the evening to show their support, making the occasion even more special.
MUNA gives senior high school students the opportunity to develop their debating and public speaking skills while learning about the United Nations and international issues.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and we were proud to support these two promising young students. Their enthusiasm and confidence reflected the value of giving young people opportunities to broaden their horizons, develop their abilities and become more engaged global citizens.
