In Loving Memory of Mother Baindu Finda Lahai
15 January 1947 – 11 April 2026

Isaiah Lahai

It is with deep sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Baindu Finda Lahai, who departed this life on 11 April 2026 in Buedu Town, Kissi Tongi Chiefdom, Kailahun District, Republic of Sierra Leone, surrounded by her loved ones after a brief illness. She was 79 years old.

Mother Baindu Finda Lahai was born on 15 January 1947 in Liberia, into a respected family in Foya. She was united in marriage to Deacon Solomon Falla Lahai of Sierra Leone, and together they shared 58 years of devoted partnership, building a family grounded in faith, resilience, and love.

She was blessed with eleven children. Though eight of her children sadly predeceased her, she is survived by three—two sons and one daughter who carry forward her legacy.

Mother Baindu Lahai was a pillar of strength within the Lahai family and the wider community. She lived a life defined by extraordinary sacrifice, humility, and unwavering service to others. A devoted servant of God, she consistently placed the needs of others above her own often going without food so others could eat, clothing others while she remained with little, and enduring hardship so that others might find comfort and dignity.

Her generosity, compassion, and selflessness cannot be fully measured. She embodied true charity and lived out her faith through action, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and moral strength that will endure for generations.

Due to limited mortuary facilities in the village, she was laid to rest on 13 April 2026. Though her passing is a profound loss to the Lahai family and the entire community, we take solace in the life she lived and the countless lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
