Your Commitment
👣 What Commitment is Expected from a Friend of Rotary?
Becoming a Friend of the Rotary Club of Glenferrie is a flexible and rewarding way to stay involved in community service—on your own terms.
We understand that time is precious, so the commitment is minimal but meaningful.
🟡 Minimum Commitment
We ask that Friends of Rotary:
- Participate in at least one service project per year, such as helping at the Boroondara Farmers Market or supporting a local initiative.
- Attend at least one social event per year, to stay connected with the club and enjoy the fellowship that’s central to Rotary life.
There’s no limit to how involved you can be—many Friends attend multiple events and projects, but your level of engagement is entirely up to you.
🔒 Safeguarding and Compliance
As with all club participants, Friends of Rotary must comply with Rotary District 9800 Protection Policies.
This includes:
- Holding a valid Victorian Working with Children Check (Volunteer)
(There is no application fee for volunteers in Victoria.) - Adhering to the Rotary District 9800 Code of Conduct
🌟 Shared Values
Friends of Rotary are expected to uphold Rotary’s values and ethical standards, as outlined in the Rotary Four-Way Test:
Of the things we think, say or do:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
By becoming a Friend, you're not just supporting community projects—you’re also embracing a spirit of service, integrity, and respect.
💳 How Much Does It Cost?
The annual contribution to be a Friend of Rotary Glenferrie is $50 per annum.
This fee may be subject to annual review by the Club Board.
When attending Club Dinner Meetings or other events, Friends are welcome and simply pay for their own meal and any drinks at the bar—at the same price as members. The same applies to any ticketed or costed events you choose to attend.
