President's Message
I have been asked by numerous members if i am enjoying the presidential year. I am indeed enjoying the role mostly because it has allowed me to get to know members better. I also meet more people in the wider Rotary community.

Hope to see most of you at the next meeting!
Buckle Up Wine Lovers!

This is the bland looking RIMERN van that your generous donations and wine purchases have helped to buy.

It needs a better sign and that can be achieved with your generous wine purchases.

Keep an eye on future editions of the Rotarian for photos of the newly decorated van with RIMERN signage.

Help to keep the van on the road with ongoing wine purchases via this link:

Bring Along a Guest
In the interest of mixing things up a bit and potentially to attract new members to our vibrant Rotary Club, you are encouraged to bring along a guest to any of our Dinner Meetings.

Your guest may not initially have an interest in joining Rotary Glenferrie, but coming to a Dinner Meeting will provide an opportunity to meet new people, have good conversation and hear from a topical speaker.  It may spark a curiosity to learn more about what we do and they may be excited to come along again.

The journey begins in October, and we invite you to don your walking shoes and rally your sponsors as we stride forward together. To register and be a part of our cause, simply visit rotarywalkwithus.org

Club Meeting Report - September 12th Speaker Ken Maxfield on Camp Getaway
We welcomed to our Club Meeting on Tuesday 12th September, Ken Maxfield from the Rotary Club of North Balwyn, to speak about his involvement with Camp Getaway D9800.

Camp Getaway started in 1948 and is located at Axedale near Bendigo. Initially it was to provide a service to needy children in the Bendigo area. It has had major makeovers thanks to volunteers from Rotary 9800, and now boasts modern living accommodation and a commercial kitchen for groups to self-cater for their extended weekends away.

Wise Choices for Life
Come and hear Dr Janice Kreltszheim talk about the work of Wise Choices for Life (WCFL) in Uganda and learn about how the community in Mbale in eastern Uganda is being transformed as the curriculum of WCFL is being shared in schools, prisons, remote villages and suburban slums.
