Celebration of the 20^th Anniversary of Boroondara Farmers Market (BFM)- Since I became a Glenferrie Rotarian, volunteering at BFM has added more fun to my life. Farmers Markets are a critical ingredient to our nation’s food system, bringing fresh, sustainably produced goods to local communities. Like other Rotarians, buying fresh, local produce at BFM is essential to maintaining my good health. I have also discovered that the BFM is a culturally critical ingredient to the community, as it has continued to be a favourite place for people to gather and socialize. Its popularity during the COVID Pandemic was an excellent example of that. While volunteering at BFM, I have enjoyed watching our producers establish great relationships with their customers; patrons enjoying the outdoor environment, meeting friends, and stopping for breakfast is just divine. It’s my great privilege to share their happiness and joy.
