Why indeed? you may ask.
  • It is a great way to learn about Rotary: not just one's own club projects and activities
  • It is a chance to discover different club cultures and to share new ideas
  • This year particularly, it is a chance to meet face-to-face as it is the first for at least two years
  • It is an opportunity to visit a regional area
  • It is also an opportunity to support a regional city
  • But most of all it is FUN
After more than two years of uncertainty, District 9800 is able to invite all Rotarians to Albury/Wodonga on 22-24 April 2022.  This is the first District Conference since early in 2019 thanks to COVID-19.

Many Glenferrie members have attended conferences in the past, including Warrnambool, Shepparton and Melbourne itself - many for the first time.  A good District Conference offers attendees entertainment, education and contemplation and whilst the programme is not yet confirmed for Albury, updates will be provided on a regular basis.

Why attend?  Well for the reasons above, or course.  We have had a great increase in our membership over the past six months and all new members are encouraged to learn more about Rotary in our District, Australia, our region and around the world. If they are able to take the time to head to the Murray mid-April: a special registration has been created for first conference attendees.

To date, we have at least six Glenferrie members who have confirmed their attendance with a special club dinner planned for the Friday evening at a local Thai Restaurant.  This is the weekend preceding the Anzac Day holiday and many will be taking a further holiday break exploring the beautiful MURRAY VALLEY or heading up to Canberra to enjoy its galleries, museums, etc.  Accommodation is filling fast - President Mark has booked Best Western which had only 9 rooms available at the conference rate early this week.  However there are many other choices in all price categories so check the availability on the CONFERENCE WEBSITE. So to ensure that you have accommodation AND get the Early Bird Booking rate (until 23 February) book now to join fellow Rotarians and their partners to enjoy an interesting and fun-filled weekend in Albury/Wodonga.
