Child Mental Health. Dr Shurong Lu was guest speaker at the club meeting on July 8th 2025

Dear Joanne and Rotary Club of Glenferrie,

This is Dr Shurong Lu from the University of Melbourne. Thanks for having me at your Rotary club to introduce my research project on empowering multicultural parents to support children with mental health challenges this August. I am excited to share with you that my research project, “Evaluating the Supporting Child Mental Health Training Among Multicultural Parents and Carers,” is now ready for recruiting participants.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could share the recruitment flyer as attached within your Club and networks.

Below is a short paragraph that you may use in a newsletter/internal email communication:

📣 Participant Recruitment

·         Are you a parent or carer of children aged 5-12 years?

·         Do you speak a language other than English at home?

We invite you to take part in a research project evaluating the Supporting Child Mental Health training—developed by the authors of Mental Health First Aid™. You will learn how to support primary school–aged children experiencing mental health challenges.

Please use the LINK (https://q.surveys.unimelb.edu.au/jfe/form/SV_bqgvnq3o6lBLHxA) to learn more about the research or to participate. Enquiries: cald-mh@unimelb.edu.au or call 03 8344 5642

I’d love to talk more if you have any suggestion regarding how to reach out potential CALD families within your club region or how Rotary Club of Glenferrie can deeply partnering in this project.
