A wonderful world exists beneath the oceans and the seas of our planet. The colours of the coral and the many species of fish and other creatures are truly magic. For scuba divers, every dive offers a new and exciting experience.
The International Fellowship of Rotarian Scuba Divers (IFRSD) was established in October 2009 and has more than 300 members worldwide.
The Fellowship usually has two dive trips per year in different parts of the world. One of these trips is land-based while the other is conducted from a boat offshore on which the members live while enjoying scuba diving.
Members have an excellent opportunity to share fellowship on these trips, especially when they are living together as a group o
n the dive boat. So, being in close proximity out of the water there is plenty of time for socialising. They are able to share their underwater experiences, photos and learn about other aspects of each other’s life. As with the majority of Rotary International Fellowships, the IFRSD has a strong commitment to the values of Rotary. They support Rotary projects such as the eradication of Polio and when visiting diving sites in different parts of the world the members of the Fellowship frequently involve themselves in “hands on work” in the communities and may also provide funding for particular projects in need of finance.
