“Hallelujah”– We are back to a “normal” way of life with the reintroduction of face to face meetings this month. What a way to kick off the proceedings with our club member Ted Baillieu presenting about the ANZACS in a fitting tribute to Remembrance Day on the Thursday (Nov 11th). For me, it will be unusual to be Presidential having been in T shirts and track pants for most zoom meetings! I will be there in all my 3 Dimensional glories! The ability to mute and close off video feeds is gone.
The face to face was our Changeover in July, so I have some presentations to give out to those who missed that meeting. On Nov 16th meeting, I will have the pleasure of inducting Paul Shekleton and Oxana Belyaeva into our club.
AGM - Please note that the AGM is coming up on November 23rd.
November as Foundation Month
We should appreciate what we are all about and our Foundation months speaks for itself. Murray Verso the Chairperson of the Rotary Foundation is speaking on Nov 16th so be prepared. As above, it will be a great meeting with introducing two members into our family.
100 year Project - Note that the Grand Official Opening of the Yarra Bank reserve playground is on Nov 21st.  Hopefully all playgrounds will be open so we can celebrate the tremendous amount of work this project has generated. Please watch the Bulletin announcements.
Christmas Party – The year is coming to an end, and we need to plan our Christmas celebration. Rod has booked Dec 21st Tuesday night for our event. I will be asking for choir practise for interested members. I would appreciate input to organise this event, please.
Bike Group – Our past president Thelma and I have discussed the concept of forming a club bike group to ride maybe Sunday morning and then the essential coffee stop. We could go for an hour or two ride. I thought that we could meet at the corner of Bridge Road and Yarra Boulevard? Please let me know if interested.
Some other events coming up;
  1. Annual Paul Harris Breakfast – End Polio 23 November.  Format to be announced.
  2. District Conference – 30/4 – 1/5 2022.  Venue to be announced
  3. Cluster Film Night – Kew RC is working on a cluster film night in December. The film is “the Duke”. Venue is the Lido. Details to be announced and proceedings to Foundation.
