I see a light at the end of a long tunnel. "There is a light at the end of the tunnel hopefully it's not a freight train”- Mariah Carey.  “To the pessimist the light at the end of the tunnel is another train." According to Joan Rivers.

However, we are optimists, and I am sure you are all hanging out for a chance to have some notion of a normal life. Trading my tracksuit pants and my t-shirt for slacks and business shirt on a more permanent basis will be interesting, especially with the restraints of belts and collars - considering that my GP stated that all his patients have put on at least 3 kg in this lockdown! In particular, diabetic patients have had difficulty in their controls, posing a health risk to themselves.

We are hoping to have face to face meetings at Kooyong TC from November onwards. However, there will be number limitations and the notion that you must show proof of being fully vaccinated. There will be limits on numbers attending the meetings, but we need to be updated by Kooyong TC as to its plans.
Personal data – It has been pointed out to me that some of the information I am supplying is not correct. The data I am using is straight off Club Runner. When set up Richard asked everyone to audit their own data that was entered. To avoid misinformation, could everyone spend some time reviewing their personal data stored within our Club Runner. It might even be a clinch with Club Runner but please check.

Christmas Party – The year is coming to an end, and we need to plan our Christmas celebration. Rod has booked December 21st Tuesday night for our event. This will depend on numbers, but we will be more likely to have partners joining us if we go alone. As soon as we can have visitors, I will ask for choir practise. I would appreciate input to organise this event, please.

100 year Project - Note that the Grand Official Opening of the Yarra Bank reserve playground is on Nov 21st. Hopefully all playgrounds will be open so we can celebrate the tremendous amount of work this project has generated. Please watch the Bulletin announcements.

AGM - Please note that the AGM is coming up in late November.

The Glenferrie Rotary Harriers - We invite you to join the Glenferrie Rotary Harriers, with the aim of being active in some form for the first 27 days of October. Being active may include cycling, running, walking or merely reducing one's consumption of alcohol! So please click on the link to join the group and encourage friends, family and others to be part of the action.
You have a choice to join the team or donate (or both).

November as Foundation Month
We should appreciate what we are all about and our Foundation month speaks for itself. We have a speaker on Nov 16th so be prepared. We should all look at being involved in a Paul Harris Fellowship.

Keep well.

President Mark
