Last Tuesday evening, members of our club enjoyed an interesting, informative and humorous presentation from our club member, Amelia Hamer.
Next Tuesday, we look forward to another interesting presentation from the wife of our long-standing member, Past President Don Heath. Glenis Heath will speak to us on the all-important subject of food, in which she is highly qualified and has authored many books. Partners and friends will find this a special evening to attend.
Our Global Grant Scholar, Masaya Endo, a Japanese student who is studying linguistics at Melbourne University, will be attending next Tuesday’s meeting, and this will be his first introduction to our club. For the next two years, we will be offering Masaya friendship and support while he is studying in Melbourne.
On Friday morning the 25th of July, Anita Morkans (in her capacity as Director of Membership) and I attended a breakfast meeting with Michael Stillwell, an Assistant Governor who is responsible for organizing and enabling all the seven Presidents of the clubs in our cluster to get together and share ideas. Michael chaired a valuable meeting concentrating on the many Rotary projects amongst our clubs and asking all Presidents and Directors of Membership to exchange ideas regarding the important topic of Membership. There were some useful suggestions which Anita and her Committee will discuss.
