As my time as President is rapidly drawing to a close, I have been reflecting on how Rotary benefits all of its members and vice versa. These thoughts were prompted by my attendance at the memorial held at Kooyong for Past President David Sutherland. It was clear from the family tributes that David had highly valued his time as a Rotary member and had made an enormous contribution. It was also clear from talking to members in attendance that David had had a positive impact on many members of the Club through his dedication and amazing personality. Vale David Sutherland.
Not everything is plain sailing in Rotary, and we say goodbye to the first of the month Farmers Market. Despite extensive efforts this market has become simply not viable. A great thank you to all the members of the Farmers Market Committee who have put in many hours trying to get it to work.

Members may be pleased or concerned that a whole new version of ClubRunner is on the horizon, ClubRunner Nova. Its adoption will be compulsory for all clubs using ClubRunner. I have not had much to do with it other than attending a couple of webinars, but first impressions are that it will be easier to use and is feature packed. Its introduction will be a matter for the new committee and Club Webmaster Richard Blakeman.

Don’t forget that Changeover is coming up, one of the highlights of the year. It’s on June 24th so get your tickets for yourself and your partner. This is of course unless you are one of the migratory Rotary birds who seem to appear at this time of year and fly off to all parts.
