Cleanup Australia
It was great to see so many members enthusiastically cleaning up Pattersons Reserve and surrounding areas. We had quite a turn out. Thanks to those who organized the day and the eats and drinks including Thelma, Geoff and Paul. It was also great to see our local member John Pesutto enthusiastically getting stuck in before heading off to the festival.
District Summit
A reminder that the District Summit is in Adelaide from 16 May to 18 May. I have registered so please let me know if you are going as well. 
Attendance and leave of absence.
Is reasonable to say that Rotary’s attitude to attendance (at least in Australia) has become far more flexible. However regular involvement in Rotary activities is still an integral part of your Rotary membership. After all, why are you paying a membership fee if you are not making use of what Rotary has to offer? However, that involvement can occur in many ways aside from attending our regular meetings. You can volunteer at the market, work at Rimern, help dismantle playgrounds, be involved with Rotary radio, teach people how to cook, the list goes on and on. We are however coming to the time of year when a lot of our members take flight. If you are heading off on an extended break, at any time, please file a formal leave of absence notice with Secretary Geoff and your absence can be noted. This can be extremely important if we need extra bodies for an activity.
Meeting 11 March
Don’t forget we have a meeting on the 11th of March. Whilst some of our members are apparently attending an alternate event, we look forward to our usual and enjoyable meeting.
