What an inspiring talk from Andi from Sumba last Tuesday (10 September). It was a bit of an eye opener for me. I was generally aware of our Sumba mission relating to eyesight but had no idea about the malaria and leprosy programs. It was good to see that the malaria program is having marked success in reducing the number of malaria cases. In relation to Sumba don’t forget to book in for the Sumba fund raising event on 22nd November 2024.
It promises to be a great night. The flyer has been circulated. We are having another President’s lunch on Wednesday 18th September at the Glenferrie at 12.30 p.m. No need to book but let me know who is coming.
Our last meeting for the month is in Grand Final week on 24th September. I encourage you to wear your teams’ colours even if they are not participating. I will dig out my Brisbane Lions scarf if I can find it.
