We had an interesting evening at the last general meeting. Two girls, from Mandeville Hall, gave us a summary of the experience they had at the youth district project, MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly), which is held over a weekend in May. Students represented countries in dress and knowledge. Our students were given Russia. All students used research, debating and public speaking skills to address a wide range of relevant issues. Debate with other countries also often led to resolutions being made.
The Farmers Market had a Halloween themed market last Saturday. Unfortunately, the heavens opened and there was a downpour of rain throughout the day. Regardless, we had a good number of stallholders & patrons.
Here is a good chance for you to get rid of your second-hand or homemade goods! The Environment & Sustainability committee has booked a stall at the Camberwell Market for Sunday the 15th of November. The profit made will be used for humanitarian projects. The last chance to donate goods is to bring them to the meeting on the 10th November.
Don’t forget to order your Rotary Xmas cakes & puddings in preparation for the festive season!
