A protest has been lodged concerning the answer given for a question at the Australia Quiz, held at the club meeting last Tuesday evening. The question in question is the one that asked: "With which animal is the Gallipoli hero John Simpson Kirkpatrick associated"? The answer given was the donkey. The protestor claims that this is incorrect and that the correct answer is the oyster, and that Oysters Kirkpatrick was named after him.

Despite the protests, a winning table was identified featuring a number of Masters and Mistresses of Trivia, including Paul Harris Fellow Andrew Lane of financial services firm Accru Melbourne, which only goes to prove that you are a step ahead when you have a good accountant on your team.
The protest has been dismissed and the protester referred for psychiatric attention. The raffle winner for the month was Lynette Spencer who won the voucher for a future club dinner meeting. Our thanks to the staff at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, for a wonderful meal and their attention to detail in arranging the room for us.
