Speaker: Tony Boyle   Topic: Home Batteries and Much Much More

Tony Boyle, left. Electrifying Boroondara.

Club members enjoyed a very enlightening presentation by Tony Coyle from Electrify Boroondara on the subject of how to electrify your home and business to save money, improve health and comfort and create a safer climate.

Tony guided us through the decision process that one ought to follow when considering installing a solar battery.

Questions to be answered such as; Why do I want one? What size do I need based on household usage? When do I use electricity? What tariff plans are available? Do the financials stack up? What are the system design considerations? Where can it be located? How do I find a reputable supplier/installer?

It was illuminating to discover that it is possible to get a bi-directional home battery to which an EV could be plugged in.  This would enable power from the car to be discharged to the battery.

Tony’s take away tip was to ignore letterbox drops and TV advertising.
