On Saturday 20th September, our Rotary Global Scholar, Masaya Endo, enthusiastically took part in the Boroondara Farmers Market. It was a wonderful opportunity for him to experience the warmth and vibrancy of our local community while lending a hand to our club’s important fundraising activity. Masaya is studying for a Masters Degree at the University of Melbourne, funded by a grant from The Rotary Foundation.

Masaya quickly immersed himself in the atmosphere, welcoming patrons with a friendly smile and assisting with market operations. He quickly learned how to use the EFTPOS machine while also taking the time to enjoy some of the delicious local food on offer.
Beyond the fun and food, Masaya contributed greatly to the team effort, helping with the dismantling of stalls at the close of the market. His willingness to be involved in every aspect of the day reflected his genuine interest in community service and cultural exchange.
The experience was not only valuable for Masaya but also enriching for our members, who enjoyed sharing the spirit of fellowship with him. We look forward to welcoming Masaya at future club events as he continues to make the most of his Rotary journey.
