Photography is a pastime in which most of us participate at some time or other. Many of us enjoy photographing members of our family and capturing wonderful sights we have seen on overseas visits and other holidays. Some also enjoy taking artistic photos of nature such as a flower, a bird, or something else that takes our interest. A large proportion of the population in Western countries and many people in developing countries, now have access to mobile phones with cameras. With the increase in technical capability of these phones, producing quality photos has become easier than ever before. Nevertheless, serious photographers and professionals still use hi-tech cameras and equipment to achieve quality images.
It is not surprising that Rotarians with a passion for photography have joined together to share their works, technical expertise, knowledge and fellowship.
The International Fellowship of Rotarian Photographers was recognised by Rotary International in 2012. It is a Fellowship of amateur and professional photographers who share a love of all things photographic.

- To promote photography as a means of service among the family of Rotary
- To foster high ethical standards in all aspects of photographic work
- To support, encourage and advance the photographic successes of members of the Fellowship
- To sponsor and promote activities and events that enhance awareness of photography as a means of service and that raise the profile of Fellowship
