Hikaru Sato, our Rotary Foundation Global Scholar, has accepted a position with the Health and Global Policy Institute in Japan, and will take up her position on December 9th 2024. Hikaru has been in Australia since early 2023, studying for a Masters Degree in Public Health at the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, focusing on disease prevention and treatment.
Hikaru has been studying under a Global Scholarship funded by The Rotary Foundation, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mito, in Japan, and the Rotary Club of Glenferrie, and mentored by PP Teresa Liu. Her bright smile and friendly nature have earned her many friends at the club, where she attended meetings from time to time, and assisted with the Farmers Market and the sale of Rotary Foundation Christmas Cakes last year. Hikaru will be at the club's fundraising dinner for the Sumba Eye Program on November 22nd where club members will be able to farewell her.
Congratulations Hikaru and best wishes for the future from all of us at The Rotary Club of Glenferrie. We will miss you!
