Your leftover foreign notes and coins can really make a difference!  If you have “spare” foreign currency languishing in your travel drawer at home, please consider bringing it to the dinner meeting on Tuesday 13th May and donating it to Disaster Aid Australia.   Let us explain……
In past years, Rotary Club of Glenferrie members have contributed to the Rotary Foreign Currency Repatriation project coordinated by the Rotary Club of Hornsby. This project supports aid for international projects sponsored by Rotary International and has been in existence for more than twenty years. Over that time the project nationally has raised more than $580,000. Disaster Aid Australia has been the beneficiary of previous club donations with funds used to assist international communities who have suffered from horrific disasters such as floods, earthquakes and fires.

The foreign currency collections are delivered to RC Hornsby via RC Keilor, the designated club in District 9800, and then with the help of Qantas, the currency is repatriated to the country of origin.

Last financial year the Club donated $270 to the project, and this year to date, our donations total $2,300 due to the generosity of our returned travellers.
So let us do a final push to get to $3,000 and make a significant contribution to Rotary International’s Disaster Aid Australia fund.

Please bring your spare foreign currency to our 13th May Club dinner meeting as a donation to RI Disaster Aid Australia and help the Club meet this aspirational target.
