A mild dry Saturday morning greeted Stallholders and Patrons with early temperatures around 14.0°c. A sunny morning progressively developed with the temperature rising to 18.7 °c prior to the Market closing at 12:30pm. There were 29 Stallholders attending, this time for our second ‘First Saturday of the Month’ Farmers Market. Difficulty in getting Staff on the day prevented another three Stallholders from attending who had previously expressed their wish to do so.
It was pleasing and vital this time - vis à vis our initial ‘First Saturday of the Month’ Market’ - that we had every key area of produce covered by at least one vendor in a produce category such as red meat, pork, fish, cheese eggs, bread and vegetables.
I thank the following Rotary Volunteers. Robert Winspear for your very early morning help to successfully place Stalls in their
marked Sites. Thank you to David Fallick for assisting with the marking out on Friday and Wayne Worladge for assisting me checking the Site Plan. Thank you to the Captain of the Early Shift, President Mark Ellis and his team of Don Moore, Alex Marshall and President-Elect Teresa Liu. Thank you to the Captain of the Late Shift Thelma Hutchison and her team of Michael Hills and Rod Smith. A special thank you to Ros Winspear who filled in at short notice for a volunteer who was unable to help on the Late Shift.

Again thank you Boroondara Farmers Market Treasurer and Past President John Suriano for getting Stallholders to pre-pay for
Markets they attend. Past President Rob Hogan and Miffy Hogan thank you again for managing the Rosters. Thank you Nickie Wainwright – City of Boroondara for getting us those printed Market calendars for distribution on Saturday and subsequently in a letter box drop. This teamed with work I am undertaking to enhance our email distribution list, will be essential. We only had 600 Patrons attend on Saturday (including the Federal Treasurer and his family) but this is not enough.
