Rotary Global Scholar Hikaru Sato has returned to Japan to take up a new role with the Health and Global Policy Institute after successfully completing her Masters Degree in Public Health at the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne. Hikaru was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mito in Japan and mentored during her time in Australia by the Rotary Club of Glenferrie, led by PP Teresa Liu. Her tuition and living costs during her eighteen months in Australia were funded by The Rotary Foundation.

Rotary Global Scholar Hikaru Sato, front row second from left, was farewelled at a dinner at the home of PP Teresa Liu on November 24th. Hikaru is seen here with members of the Rotary Glenferrie support team who mentored Hikaru during her time in Melbourne.

Hikaru made many friends at the club during her time in Australia. At a farewell dinner at the home of PP Teresa Liu, Hikaru commented how much confidence she had gained during her time in Australia, and how much she will miss this country. We will miss you too Hikaru. Thank you for spending time with us. We send you our very best wishes for what we are sure will be a highly successful career in public health.
