Walking Together to End Polio

On 18 October, the Rotary Clubs of Camberwell, Hawthorn and Glenferrie joined forces to organise a community walk from Fritsch Holzer Park to Auburn Hotel in support of End Polio Now.

Despite the warm 26°C weather, more than 30 enthusiastic participants came together to raise awareness of polio eradication. Even some members who had recently undergone surgery joined the event, demonstrating their wonderful commitment to this important cause!

Wearing our red End Polio T-shirts, we created a vibrant sea of red as we walked through the park and towards Auburn Hotel. Along the way, members handed out flyers to passers-by, spreading the message about the importance of eradicating polio and encouraging community awareness.

The walk concluded at Auburn Hotel, where everyone enjoyed a well-deserved drink and wonderful fellowship. It was a fantastic afternoon of community engagement, friendship and shared purpose.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success. Together, we are not only walking for fellowship but also taking another step towards a polio-free world!
