I hope everyone is still having a safe and good Easter. Easter is not only a significant religious event; it is a time for families together. So, I hope that our “family” the RC of Glenferrie members will get together tomorrow night for another general club meeting.

Last Tuesday night was a great success for our Celebration of Golf night. For those present, we were treated to talks by the sponsors for the lift the Lid Golf day, and an education from Steffan Scutti, the longest drive champion as to style and strategy, Steffan was interviewed by Bob Lambert of RC Canterbury. We were graced by the presence of our DG Dale Hoy and our AG Lili Teichman both signifying the importance of this major fund raiser, that Elizabeth Dumonic and the task force of Richard Blakeman, Thelma Hutchison, Don Heath, Don Moore Robert Hogan, Tim Gale and Teresa Liu.  The famous cricketer, Merv Hughes will be there also. This is the day to be involved and be seen!!  The good principle of golf is that anyone of all shapes, sizes, age and conditioning can be involved. It is not a walk wasted but builds friendship and fellowship.
Lift the Lid golf day - With only a few tickets left to play, there will be many disappointed souls, who did the usual Rotary thing and waited for the last moment. Our club night is to be a BBQ on the day at Kingston Heath Golf Club and you can book in now via this link to not miss being involved.  There is a raffle with terrifically sourced prizes by Elizabeth, which will be drawn at the changeover June 14th.

Other issues for our club -
District Conference – Albury 22 to 24th April. Please consider coming especially all the new members, since this is best way to gain an insight into the immense exciting world of Rotary. Please let us know if coming so we can include you in our Friday night club dinner, which I thank Cheryl for organising – a tapas bar in the main street of Albury.  We will be publicizing the “Lift the Lid” golf event at the conference and our distinguished Richard Blakeman will be speaking at the conference on the R100 Playground Project.  Many reasons for considering the journey.

Changeover Date – Our Changeover is June 14th.  Please place this date in your diaries for the big social event on our calendar.  Tickets sales are already open via Humanitix: Click here.

Camberwell Art Show – This year is to be held at the Advanced Technology Centre of Swinburne University. The RC of Camberwell is proposing a Super Cluster event on Monday June 27th form 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm.  Entry fee is $15, and wine and cheese are provided. It has been suggested that we could then meet at a local restaurant afterwards. The Board thought that this should be supported in place of our last Kooyong meeting for this Rotary Year on the 28th of June at Kooyong. More details later.

MentorMatch – This is a project led by Rotary Central Melbourne partnering with Mentormatch to facilitate the assimilation of international students into Australian social and business communities through mentoring. Those at the Golf Experience night would have heard our DG Dale Hoy expand on this project. Further information visit www.rotarymentors.org.au. You can register your interest by email Warwick Cavell at Warick.Cavell@rotary9800.org..
More information can be supplied by emailing myself.

Enjoy another week of Rotary.
