The club's Board of Directors held it's regular meeting in August over a pleasant glass of wine and a delicious meal at the Auburn Hotel, August 28th, combining the club's essential business considerations with the opportunity for fellowship. Discussions focused on the impact on club projects of declining Farmers Market revenues, the lack of response to the club survey earlier this year and some changes to the club's meeting schedule for the rest of the year. Here are the key  points from the Board meeting held on 28 August:-

  • At future Club dinner meetings member birthdays and anniversary dates of joining the Club will continue to be announced but not wedding anniversaries.

  • The recently conducted member survey had a very low response rate (17/47) and deemed not be a true representative of the membership.  Some key suggestions have been implemented and further follow up with members is planned.

  • Discussion regarding the reduction in the Service budgets in 25_26 due to lower FM income (cancellation of 1st week Farmers Market) and lower expected outside grants.

  • Buggy used at the FM continues to be plagued with problems.  A repair quote from Toyota in excess of $3k was deemed excessive and alternative quotes are being sort.

  • Soft plastics continue to be collected at the FM then  delivered to Rotarian Ian Dobsons factory for collection.

  • There will be no Club meeting on 9th December due to the Christmas Party being held the following week (16th December)

  • Joanne S is organising an End Polio walk for October

  • DG's visit scheduled for 28th October will be rescheduled to a later date due to 50th anniversary dinner the week prior when he will be attending.
