The bad, the sad and the mad. Life as an Undercover Cop and Other Stories
Aug 29, 2023 6:30 PM
In a police career spanning two decades, Lachlan McCulloch was commended for bravery, exposed police corruption, tracked heavy drug gangs and went deep undercover to infiltrate Australia's most dangerous crime family. But his best years in the job were spent on the street dealing with the bad, the sad and the mad. “Lenny Rogers” was a slimy, long haired, bad-ass drug dealing crime figure who infiltrated the infamous Pettingill family ultimately leading to their downfall. Get something wrong and you’re dead was Lachlan’s life for these wild years. A family man throughout, now a grandfather, avid fisherman, Lachlan is still chasing wrongdoing but in the much safer environment. |

The Happiness Hunter
Oct 10, 2023 6:30 PM
Fiona Redding is a mindset coach, author, podcaster and motivational speaker, and is the Founder of The Happiness Hunter. In 2012 Fiona woke up with a burning question “How has this become my life?”. Fiona was 37, at home with two tiny kids, drinking every day, and was unfit and unhealthy. At this time, she realised that if she wanted her life to change, she had to own it – it was her that had to change. She decided to focus on one thing: Happiness. The seed of The Happiness Hunter was planted. She started her own coaching, consulting, and speaking business. She started meditating, stopped drinking, and started walking every day. Over the last ten years, Fiona’s life has completely transformed in every single area and through The Happiness Hunter, she teaches and shares everything she has learnt over that time. |

The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV)
Oct 17, 2023 6:30 PM
Join us for an inspiring talk by Kevin Purvis, the President of TCFV and a retired Primary School teacher with a warm and compassionate heart. With over two decades of pastoral ministry experience, Kevin has served in various Baptist Churches and Chaplaincy positions and been a pillar of support for those navigating the profound journey of grief. Kevin's personal story as a bereaved father of Stephen, who tragically passed away in 2001, lends a profound depth to his work. When he's not engaging in his passions like lawn bowls, cycling, or enjoying films with the Croydon Film Society, Kevin dedicates his time to The Compassionate Friends Victoria. This non-profit organization plays a vital role in providing solace and guidance to bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents. For Kevin, TCFV holds a special place in his heart, having been a source of comfort during his own grieving process. Please join us in this engaging conversation about the profound impact of TCFV's important work.

Member Behind the Badge
Oct 24, 2023 6:30 PM
My parents were born in Ukraine, I am the oldest of 4 children and was born in Poland. My next brother was born in Czechoslovakia and the younger twin brothers were born in Germany - in an American refugee camp where we spent four years waiting to be processed for immigration to a new life in Australia.
We are Ukrainians who fled Russian invasion twice and are grateful to this wonderful country of Australia which provided us with safety, education and the promise of a future. |
