President's Message

Members had a fun night last week and had the opportunity to listen to the district update from District Governor Ron Payne. Ron also attended an informal Board gathering prior to the meeting, where all directors gave an informative and confident summary of their committee's actions. After that presentation and meeting members throughout the night, Ron concluded “you guys have got your act together”.

Don’t miss out on the presentation from Lenny, the bad-ass undercover cop this coming Tuesday 29th.

Club Meeting Report August 22nd - Official Visit of the District Governor
The Rotary Club of Glenferrie warmly welcomed District Governor Ron Payne and Debra on Tuesday August 22nd, for the first official DG visit in two years. Ron is a twice Past President of the Rotary Club of Eaglehawk, in Bendigo, and has become even more active in Rotary following his retirement from a 47-year career in education, as a teacher, school principal and a senior role in education administration.

Also attending the meeting was Assistant Governor Riverside Cluster Anne Frueh. DG Ron has pledged to visit every club in the District, sixty-two in all, before his year is complete and his message to Glenferrie Rotarians resonated powerfully with club members.

The bad, the sad and the mad. Life as an Undercover Cop and Other Stories
The bad, the sad and the mad. Life as an Undercover Cop and Other Stories

In a police career spanning two decades, Lachlan McCulloch was commended for bravery, exposed police corruption, tracked heavy drug gangs and went deep undercover to infiltrate Australia's most dangerous crime family. But his best years in the job were spent on the street dealing with the bad, the sad and the mad. “Lenny Rogers” was a slimy, long haired, bad-ass drug dealing crime figure who infiltrated the infamous Pettingill family ultimately leading to their downfall. Get something wrong and you’re dead was Lachlan’s life for these wild years.

A family man throughout, now a grandfather, avid fisherman, Lachlan is still chasing wrongdoing but in the much safer environment.
