Meeting Report August 15th 2023 Speaker Dr Shurong Lu (Sharon)
We are all aware of the impact of mental health disorders and the negative effects on physical health, social inclusion and academic achievement experienced by those affected. One in seven young people experience mental illness.

As members know, the Club has been an active supporter of research into mental health, raising $36,000 from the golf day 18 months ago and donating it to Australian Rotary Health, for research into first aid education for primary school students.

What's this thing called, luv?
Glenferrie Rotarian David Fallick appears to be greatly puzzled by this spare part associated with a clothes dryer, recently donated to RIMERN (Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network). All electrical items must first be inspected before being distributed to a RIMERN customer.

RIMERN is a multi-club Rotary project operating Inner Melbourne, providing furniture, appliances & homewares to welfare agency clients who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, incarceration, refugee displacement and other crises. The Rotary Club of Glenferrie supports RIMERN, both financially and by manning the warehouse shifts on the second Monday of each month. Members wishing to volunteer for a shift at RIMERN may sign up here: Volunteer List - RIMERN Second Mondays
