04 Jul 2025 Power Assist Basketball Jul 04, 2025 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM The Community Service and Youth Groups have again agreed to help support this program which provides a sporting outlet for individuals with a range of disabilities. It is not wheelchair basketball and our role is merely to collect player and spectator payments which cover the cost of basketballs and administration. All the staff, including umpires are voluntary and the competition has been going for more than twenty years. It arose out of an initiative of the Power House organization. Our commitment is to provide two volunteers at the Methodist Ladies' College(MLC) Basketball courts in Kew on a Friday night, once a month, from 6.30PM for 2 hours. So, if you have a free Friday night please consider helping out. Whilst it may seem a trivial activity we do perform an important role and it provides the opportunity to "chew the fat" with a fellow Rotarian in between acting as a cashier. (Volunteers enter MLC via the pedestrian gate in Fitzwilliam Street near its intersection with Selbourne Road.)
