Club Visit to the Camberwell Art Show
Jul 02, 2025 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

A Night of Fine Art

Wednesday 2 July 2025

6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

Pablo Picasso

Come along to this special Rotary Glenferrie event: “A Night of Fine Art” at the Camberwell Art Show and “…wash away…the dust of everyday life.”  Admire over 1,000 varied paintings, with many from leading and established Australian artists.  All partners and friends are welcome.

To book your tickets for the Art Show, on Wednesday 2 July 2025, please click on this link: Tickets.  Delightful that the entry cost of $20 includes cheese and wine.

On that same above link, you will also find helpful Visitor Information, including how to get there by train or tram.

Our session is planned for 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm, but come when you like.  Also stay as long as you like, unless you would like to take up the following invitation.

After gazing at the paintings with admiration, you are warmly invited to adjourn to the iconic Glenferrie Hotel for a convivial dinner; an easy 5 minute stroll from the Art Show.  Dinner will be booked for 7:30 pm.

To register for the dinner, please email Rod Smith and let him know who’s coming:  silver5000@bigpond.com

Dinner registrations will close on Friday 27 June 2025.

If you have any queries, just please give Rod a call on 0438 771 822.

We look forward meeting up with you, as well as your partner / friends, on “A Night of Fine Art”.

Power Assist Basketball
Jul 04, 2025 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
The Community Service and Youth Groups have again agreed to help support this program which provides a sporting outlet for individuals with a range of disabilities. It is not wheelchair basketball and our role is merely to collect player and spectator payments which cover the cost of basketballs and administration. All the staff, including umpires are voluntary and the competition has been going for more than twenty years. It arose out of an initiative of the Power House organization.

Our commitment is to provide two volunteers at the Methodist Ladies' College(MLC) Basketball courts in Kew on a Friday night, once a month, from 6.30PM for 2 hours. So, if you have a free Friday night please consider helping out. Whilst it may seem a trivial activity we do perform an important role and it provides the opportunity to "chew the fat" with a fellow Rotarian in between acting as a cashier.

(Volunteers enter MLC via the pedestrian gate in Fitzwilliam Street near its intersection with Selbourne Road.)

Power Assist Basketball
Oct 03, 2025 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
