The Aladura Primary School WASH Project, Sierra Leone

Past President Taplima Muana, together with Club President Daniel Sama and members of the Rotary Club of Bo have been strong partners with Rotary Glenferrie in building two toilet blocks for the students at the Aladura Primary School in Buedu, Sierra Leone, and delivering tailored WASH training. This joint meeting will talk about how this project became such a success, and what plans there may be for future collaboration. |

Club Dinner Meeting Our Club Meeting on 29th April 2025 will be held at the Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network(RIMERN) warehouse, located at the corner of Lincoln St and Moreland Road, East Brunswick.
The evening will commence at 6.00PM with drinks and nibbles, a tour of the warehouse and then dinner at the nearby Darebin RSL, 402 Bell St, Preston.
This is a repeat of a most enjoyable and convivial event that was held during November 2023. A great opportunity for all members, both new and longstanding to catch up with RIMERN's progress.

The Community Service and Youth Groups have again agreed to help support this program which provides a sporting outlet for individuals with a range of disabilities. It is not wheelchair basketball and our role is merely to collect player and spectator payments which cover the cost of basketballs and administration. All the staff, including umpires are voluntary and the competition has been going for more than twenty years. It arose out of an initiative of the Power House organization.
Our commitment is to provide two volunteers at the Methodist Ladies' College(MLC) Basketball courts in Kew on a Friday night, once a month, from 6.30PM for 2 hours. So, if you have a free Friday night please consider helping out. Whilst it may seem a trivial activity we do perform an important role and it provides the opportunity to "chew the fat" with a fellow Rotarian in between acting as a cashier.
(Volunteers enter MLC via the pedestrian gate in Fitzwilliam Street near its intersection with Selbourne Road.)

Legal Aid for Migrants

Jazmine Elmolla is a lawyer with a particular interest in migration, and in ensuring that migrants have access to legal services and a fair and just migration system. Jazmine has just returned from 2 years in London, where she worked with the International Organisation for Migration in Iraq and the UK Government. She is excited to start a new role with Victoria Legal Aid in Melbourne in their migration law programme. Jazmine studied a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) at Monash University and is keen to further her education to increase the tools available to her in working towards increasing access to justice. She has recently commenced a Master of Science in International Human Rights Law at Oxford University over two years, supported by a multi-club grant scholarship part funded by The Rotary Foundation. |

But now’s the perfect time to really welcome him properly. Ray’s got a great story to share, and the Member Behind the Badge night is the perfect chance to hear it. These evenings are always a favourite—it’s when we get to find out more about the amazing people in our club. "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Pablo Picasso Come along to this special Rotary Glenferrie event: “A Night of Fine Art” at the Camberwell Art Show and “…wash away…the dust of everyday life.” Admire over 1,000 varied paintings, with many from leading and established Australian artists. All partners and friends are welcome. To book your tickets for the Art Show, on Wednesday 2 July 2025, please click on this link: Tickets. 2. The key-safe actually contains a key card which unlocks the rear door of the newly renovated hall that is approached from the Salvation Army carpark off Athelstan Road. The entrance to the carpark is just before 4 Athelstan Road where we previously delivered the bread. The key-safe is on a down-pipe adjacent to a blue bin to the left of the door into the hall. 3. Put the bread on the kitchen servery which is on your right as you enter.

The Community Service and Youth Groups have again agreed to help support this program which provides a sporting outlet for individuals with a range of disabilities. It is not wheelchair basketball and our role is merely to collect player and spectator payments which cover the cost of basketballs and administration. All the staff, including umpires are voluntary and the competition has been going for more than twenty years. It arose out of an initiative of the Power House organization.
Our commitment is to provide two volunteers at the Methodist Ladies' College(MLC) Basketball courts in Kew on a Friday night, once a month, from 6.30PM for 2 hours. So, if you have a free Friday night please consider helping out. Whilst it may seem a trivial activity we do perform an important role and it provides the opportunity to "chew the fat" with a fellow Rotarian in between acting as a cashier.
(Volunteers enter MLC via the pedestrian gate in Fitzwilliam Street near its intersection with Selbourne Road.)
