My Rotary Youth Project Experience
Feb 28, 2023
Youth Service is one of Rotary's five Avenues of Service, enthusiastically endorsed by The Rotary Club of Glenferrie. Two young people will talk to us at the club meeting February 28th about just how two important club service projects have affected them. Samuel Philp is a third year Bachelor of Arts (advanced honours) student at Deakin University. He attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) week-long Camp for up to 21-year-olds last year. The program is aimed at focusing on personal growth, leadership development and community. Sebastien Krueger from Swinburne Senior Secondary College attended the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) in January this year 2023. It is a Year 12 program designed to give students a broader understanding of the diverse study and career options available in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Come along and hear from these two outstanding young people and be inspired. |

Member Behind the Badge
Mar 21, 2023 6:30 PM
Oxana celebrated her first full year in Rotary on November 16th, 2022. About time for a Member Behind the Badge address? Wish granted. Always much enjoyed, the Member Behind the Badge address is a great way to get to know a fellow Rotarian just a little better, and getting to know each other a little better is how we strengthen Rotary and our Rotary relationships. Oxana's story is an especially interesting one. Come along and hear why at our next club meeting on March 21st. |

That is why she founded the charity she now runs with passion, dedication and drive. Larissa has a Master's degree in Illustration and has worked and travelled widely. She has either worked, lived or volunteered in seven countries spanning four continents and is fluently trilingual. This involved working side by side with David, which she maintains was always great fun. She is a writer, commentator and author, but her favourite gig is connecting people with big brains and big hearts. That's why she enjoys Rotary fellowship. |
