In partnership with Australian Rotary Health, the club hosts a gala golf day at the magnificent Kingston Heath Golf Course in Cheltenham, with fabulous prizes on offer. The day will raise funds for important mental health research. Master Of Ceremonies PDG Gregory Ross, past Chairman, Australian Rotary Health, celebrity golfer cricketer Merv Hughes, Australian Long Drive Champion Steffan Scutti and three chances to win a brand new Mercedes-Benz car. The day will end with a Gala BBQ Dinner at Kingston Heath Golf Course, featuring guest speaker Professor Eóin Killackey of the University of Melbourne, speaking about Youth Mental Health, and an interview with Merv Hughes that will live in your memory forever. Guest Speaker: Prof. Eoin Killackey Master of Ceremonies: The Singing Compere, PDG Gregory Ross. Professor Eóin Killackey is an NHMRC Fellow, Associate Director of Research and Head, Functional Recovery Research in Youth Mental Health at Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health and the Centre for Youth Mental Health at The University of Melbourne. The event will include the awarding of prizes for the Lift the Lid Charity Golf, and a gourmet bbq dinner at the renowned Kingston Heath Golf Club. The meeting will also be entertained by Australian cricket legend Merv Hughes, who will be interviewed by PDG Gregory Ross.

Professor Eóin Killackey is an NHMRC Fellow, Associate Director of Research and Head, Functional Recovery Research in Youth Mental Health at Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health and the Centre for Youth Mental Health at The University of Melbourne. He completed his doctorate at Deakin University in 2000. He has worked as a clinical psychologist in adolescent and adult public mental health settings and in private practice. His research is primarily in functional recovery for young people with mental illness. He is also interested in evidence-based interventions in mental health and barriers to their implementation. He is a founder of the International First Episode Vocational Recovery group. His work has been recognised by the Australasian Society for Psychiatric Research’s Schering-Plough Organon Prize, Australian Rotary Health’s Knowledge Dissemination Award and the Society for Mental Health Research Oration Award. He has been named by Deakin University as an Alumnus of the Year. |

Club President Dr Mark Ellis AM, carrying the baton for the last two Covid-stretched years, will hand over the President's Chain of Office to President Elect Teresa Liu, in an entertaining evening of celebration, of Rotary, the achievements of Rotary and the accomplishments of members of the Rotary Club of Glenferrie. The new club Board of Directors will be announced and introduced. Ticket includes two course meal. Drinks at bar prices. The combined Rotary clubs of Boroondara will assemble at the Camberwell Art Show to view the outstanding painting submitted this year, and adjourn afterwards to a local pub suitably inspired for a creative night out. Entry to the Art Show is $15, payable on the night. Note: This event replaces the normal club meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday June 28th |
